Session -2-
--
- The party must meet Preston Digitation's PA dude (name?). Preston teaches mechanical engineering, btw.
- Ta’rok’s arm is super amazing constructed. Workmanship is incredible. Some magical part of the arm is encased in silver. Ta’rok loves junk food. He likes fire too.
- The town of First Tower is still being mildly harassed by Daask. But the party pressed onward.
- The party headed to the Maple Blood Forest, moved out of the city, the forest was bare in the chill of the early spring.
- Ta’rok chased campfire embers as he noticed a giant brown moth moving in and around the fire. The moth symbolizes a need for cleansing in his people’s culture. He saw a mural of his greatest shame. He had believed the gnomes of Zilargo as his aggressors, his enemies, but the mural told a different tale.
- Ze had a “dream”, during which he was back in his home in Adar, Sarlona in his bed, he got up, reached for the the door, when he touched the door handle, he was suddenly back in camp. Notably, Kalashtar cannot dream, and no magic can change this. At best this was a vision of things to come, at worst a hallucination from some bad skittles.
- Three sources of light in the night at the camp: the fire, full moon, and the rings of Syberius. A blue & white orb of light appeared, pulsating…"take their stuff"…Ze was compelled to grab Taroks pack, Ein woke up before Ze could steal his pack. Regardless, Ze bolted through the forest.
- The party ran through the forest chasing after Ze until he mysteriously disappeared after entering the boundry made by a circle of mushrooms. Ein shot at Ze and hit him maybe...I can't remember. But it's cool. Ze probably deserved it.
- Ein & Ta’rok moved into the circle of mushrooms. The party entered a crossing, verdant, alive, vibrant energy enveloped them. Colors are beyond anything they know from the material realm. The forest around then seemed older & wilder than anything they had encountered before. They found themselves in Thelanis (aka the Feywild)
- NOTE: Ein is holding the key to the creation forge. Notably, he is less motivated by coin than stability. So, he wouldn’t necessarily want to use or trade the key.
- To the North - rushing water; East - something big moving; West - a sweet smell; South - a giant penguin called Marvin.
- Ta’rok tried to fire his Eldridge blast, but it backfired on him somehow turning him into a t-rex. He headed East, the party followed.
- NOTE: On Thelanis - Never give your true name in the fey wild. Never take food from creatures of the fey. All birds & bees in the Feywild have guns.
- In the East we saw a desecrated six leg creature. There was a wall of bees (with guns). They wanted the corpse for their home. They wanted to make a deal. The bees will tell the party about someone who knows the way back to the material plane, they wanted sap from a Linden tree for this information. The party declined.
- We headed South to visit Marvin the penguin. He was chill. For some skittles, he told us about the Water Lady called Dapple. She could provide info on leaving Thelanis.
- We traveled North, moved through a tunnel of tree branches, a chasm by rushing water, a bridge with a sign post, the toll was a smile. A huge troll by the name of Grask, appeared. I think this is correct. Each member of the party told / did something the troll found amusing and the way across was opened for them.
- As the party slept, a fairy entered into a bargain with Ein. He traded an inch of his hair for some sweet sweet magical bullets. These Feywild creatures really do love them some guns & ammo. Who would have ever guessed?
- Ta’rok dreamed of his past; he did not see his face in a mural that he should be seen in with a look of shame. He saw instead undead soldiers fighting, not gnomes. Their armor was Carnathy A hand on his shoulder. “How shameful are you. Poor little Kevin. Left to be torn to death.” The hand gripping his shoulder was his own hand. It rolled in on itself. He came face to face with the eyes of a moth, but each facet of the eye is one of Ta'roks own eyes. “I revel in your shame because it gives me strength. And because it gives me strength, it gives you strength…How ashamed are you that your little siblings are now apart of Carnath the undead armies. Steeped in the essence of their life.” All six of his siblings…part of Carnath. The moth stood up on human-ish legs. “For your own protection and your self worth.” Ta’rok’s legs & arms were gone. He couldn’t take any action. “When you return, I want my offering for my power. I want you to consume the right eye of your next victim. Are we clear on the terms of this agreement?” Ta’rok agreed. “Don’t think too hard about what you have abandoned.”
- Ze had another "dream" or vision; Back in his home, in his bed. He grabbed his sword. He felt fear as he reached for the door handle. Someone was sitting on the couch. It was Alais, his ex-wife. She turned into some kind of zombie / ring girl…creepy shit. She moved toward Ze, he tried to stab her with his sword. He awoke near camp back in Thelanis with his sword stabbed through a tree. Ze remembered one of his fathers sayings, “Take your greatest disadvantage, make it into a weapon you can wield, and you will become unstoppable.”...thanks Dad.
- Note: Mortals of the Dreaming Dark are known to be powerful oneiromancers (Dream / Divination Magic). Perhaps this is a clue toward Ze’s unusual dream-like visions? Though trutfully, even the most powerful dream magic cannot effect Kalashtar as they are completely immune.
- In the morning the party continued to travel toward Dapple’s location. In a clearing, trees moved to block our path. We fought them. Thank the gods for Ta’rok-a-saurus. Some trees got seriously fucked up. Trees should really know better than to fight a t-rex. Silly trees.
- We reached a pool of water with a small island. A beautiful woman, presumably Dapple, basked in the sunlight. Her skin was a mix of black & blue water. As she noticed us, she looked for something. She seemed to find it and threw it toward Ta’rok. A jar filled with a viscous substance shattered on him. Ta’rok morphed back to his proper goblin self.
- Dapple asked, “Who are you and what are you doing in my lake?"
